The Beauty of a Drive
August 11th, 2009 | By Jay McGrathBy learning how to successfully drive, your game will greatly improve. The beautiful thing about a drive, however, is that it is a part of the game that is not always necessary. On a shorter hole, or even a longer hole, a drive is not as essential as the short game. By learning to keep the ball in a good position, regardless of your distance, the short game will take precedent during a round.
“What other people may find in poetry or art museums, I find in the flight of a good drive.” ~Arnold Palmer
Of course, the best thing you can do is to have the distance and position on a drive. By practicing with a golf mat and even a golf alignment mat, this can be helped. Also, the most important part, the short game, will be able to be practiced with golf chipping mats, golf putting greens, and even limited flight balls.
